Mr. Flacit is a minor character in Pico's School. He appears at the very end of the game, taking the place of Pico's first teacher after her death. He is also the one who introduces the Ghettobots and Überkids to the class.

General information

Physical appearance

Mr. Flacit has light gray hair in a comb-over and a matching gray mustache. He wears a white dress shirt with a red tie, blue jean pants, and brown shoes. In his original appearance, he has black pupils in his white eyes; however, when MindChamber redesigned him for Pico 2, he has the standard blank white eyes in addition to bushy gray eyebrows and a black belt.

Personality

Mr. Flacit acts as the new teacher of Pico's class after the Goth Punks' rampage. However, he doesn't seem any more intelligent than the previous one, as he rather cluelessly brings in the Ghettobots without any consideration of their potentially violent nature. It doesn't help that when Pico proposes the game of Rock Paper Scissors Roulette, which could kill the newly-introduced Überkids, he encourages this without showing any concern for their safety.

He could also be socially inept, as he chose Pico, Nene, and Darnell to test against the Überkids because the school didn't have any "exceptional students" for them to learn from, implying that they're all mediocre.

History

Pico's School

In Pico's School, six months after the school shooting occurs, Mr. Flacit is introduced as the new teacher for Pico's class. He announces that the school has found new students to replace the dead ones, who are then revealed to be the Ghettobots.

Pico vs. Überkids

In Pico vs. Überkids, he introduces the Überkids to the class, who were brought to test the school's best students. However, since most of them were killed thanks to the school shooting, Flacit selects Pico, Nene, and Darnell as their replacements. When Pico proposes a game of Rock Paper Scissors Roulette, Mr. Flacit is oddly okay with the selection, suggesting that he is clueless to the nature of the game.

Pico 2

In the demo for the cancelled sequel Pico 2, we follow up from the ending to Pico's School where Mr. Flacit had replaced the old teacher and introduced the Ghettobots to Pico and the surviving students. This time, the event is retconned to now take place one week later instead of six months.

Mr. Flacit's Word Search

In Mr. Flacit's Word Search, the titular character merely acts as a guide, encouraging the player to spell out as many words as possible to obtain a high score. This is also where his real name is revealed.

Trivia

• The name of "Mr. Flacit" does not appear in Pico's School. He was simply known as the new teacher who replaces the old one. His name was finally given in Mr. Flacit's Word Search, in which he was the lead character.
  • "Flacit" is a pun on the word "flaccid", in reference to a limp penis.
• Mr. Flacit's design shares very striking similarities to Dr. Wily from the Mega Man series. However, this could just be a coincidence.
• In Pico's School, there is a small oversight on Flacit's character sprite where part of his face is missing color. His mustache was also a darker shade of gray.
