Cyclops (real name Cyril) is one of the primary antagonists of Pico's School. He acts as a member of the Goth Punks and the second boss of the game. He is a rude, one-eyed punk who stands guard in the school hallways and displays a hostile disposition.

General information

Physical appearance

Cyclops has a large light pink mohawk, a faint pink right eye and an eyepatch over his left eye. He wears a black jacket with a gray collar, a white shirt, and gray shoes with gold swastikas on each side. In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, the swastikas are completely removed. In MindChamber's redesign for a proposed Pico's School remake, his right eye is instead colored white, which is more standard for the characters.

Personality

Being the most normal member of the Goth Punks, Cyclops' only specialty is being a trend-chaser. As revealed by Pico, he used to be a fan of Pearl Jam before "running with the G-Squad" and eventually becoming a punk. He also happens to be an overly edgy poser since his swastikas act as an accessory, meaning he is not a neo-Nazi. Cyclops comes off as rather overconfident as he actively mocks Cassandra behind her back for not finishing Pico off when she had the chance, and also shown as devious when he still shoots at Pico despite his pleading to spare him. However, once he's (very easily) disarmed by Pico, his bravado immediately fades, and he pathetically begs for his life; the second Pico makes clear he's not getting spared, he wets himself in pure fear.

In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, it is instead suggested that under his standoffish attitude, Cyclops is actually a nice person, as Pico reminds him that when he dropped his books, Cyclops was there to help pick them up. Cyclops also reveals that his eyepatch and his love of punk music were often the cause of him being bullied, which led to him acting more rude towards his classmates before finally siding with Cassandra. This could imply that the name "Cyclops" was an insult his classmates teased him with, which lead to him adopting it as an alias.

Abilities

Out of all the main Goth Punk members, Cyclops possesses little to no unique abilities. Since he lacks Hanzo's skills in ninjutsu, Alucard's telekinetic powers, and Cassandra's nature of being a Penilian, Cyclops' only known skillset appears to be in firearms, seeing as he wields a nondescript assault rifle while standing guard at the hallways. Even so, he doesn't seem to have much experience, as the gun was easily shot out of his hands by Pico.

History

Pico's School

In Pico's School, Cyclops is found guarding the hallways. When encountered, he will shoot Pico away with a warning shot, regardless of the dialogue option selected. Once Pico has found the gun, he is able to disarm Cyclops by shooting his gun out of his hands. This prompts Cyclops to beg for his life, and the player is given the choice of killing him or letting him go.

If Pico chooses to spare his life, Cyclops runs away and is not seen again for the rest of the game. As the doors to the school were locked, it is unknown where he went and what happened to him.

If Pico chooses to kill him, Cyclops pisses himself right before Pico guns him down. His corpse can be shot again, prompting the "BRUTAL!" medal to be awarded.

Pico 2

In artwork created by MindChamber for the cancelled game Pico 2, Cyclops is seen as a zombie with shredded clothes, no eyes, and the skin on the top half of his face missing. It is unclear as to why Cyclops is a zombie and what role he would have played, since no information was released and the game was never finished. However, it does suggest that Pico had indeed killed him during the events of Pico's School.

In Pico Roulette, Cyclops appears as a playable character.

Pico's School: Love Conquers All

In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, Cyclops is still found guarding the hallways. In this version, his real name is revealed to be Cyril. Pico talks to him about their shared interest in punk rock and how they are both teased and reminds Cyril that he is a kind person, citing him helping Pico to pick up his books when he tripped as proof. They then agree that Cyril will dye his hair orange and Pico will wear an eyepatch the following day so that their unsightly traits will be swapped, and the bullies will be confused. Feeling guilty, Cyril then goes home.

• Tom Fulp confirmed that Cyclops is not a neo-Nazi, but rather a poser edgelord.
• In Pico's School, regardless of which dialogue option is chosen ("Please spare me!" or "Go eat dick"), Cyclops will proceed to shoot at Pico.
• In Pico Roulette, Cyclops has a unique dancing animation whenever he wins a round.
  • His death animation also shows the anarchy symbol written in blood, possibly hinting that he's an anarchist.
• In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, Cyclops' real name is revealed to be Cyril. The alias of "Cyclops" more than likely came from him being bullied for wearing an eyepatch. The reason why he wears the eyepatch, however, is unclear.
  • When asked about his real name on Twitter, Tom Fulp responded with "Cyrus" before correcting himself and saying it was Cyril.
• Tom Fulp has confirmed that Cyclops' hair is dyed.
• In Pico's School: Love Conquers All, Cyclops is depicted without swastikas on his shoes, presumably as an act of censorship.
