This article's title is not official, and is purely speculative.

The Goth Kids (called G-Squad by fans) are a cult that worships Cassandra and her accomplices, as well as their actions. Composed of Mental, Gotha, Nin, Geisha, and Durst, they were meant to be a group of bosses and the true antagonists of Pico 2,[1] before the game was put in an indefinite hiatus. After the game's eventual cancelation, they were first revealed by MindChamber on his Facebook on April 23, 2013.

History

Pico 2

In Pico 2, the Goth Kids, or "G-Squad" in question, are a group of five juveniles who all seem to possess black magic; with it, they have managed to successfully resurrect Cyclops as an undead servant.[1] Notably, they are protégés of both Cassandra and Alucard.[2]

Trivia

  • MindChamber based the designs off sketches that Tom Fulp provided as references.[3]
  • On April 26, 2023, MindChamber released the assets for Pico 2. One of the Flash files, gothchickboss.fla, contains the sprites for the Goth Kids and reveals the names of all the members.[4]
    • The first member's name was revealed to be Mental, which could refer to Australian new wave band Mental As Anything.
    • The second member's name was revealed to be Gotha, presumably named after an obscure thrash metal band of the same name.
    • The third member's name was revealed to be Nin, a direct reference to NIN, which is a common abbreviation of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails.
    • The fourth member's name was revealed to be Geisha, likely named after the Australian pop rock band of the same name.
    • The fifth member's name was revealed to be Durst, named after Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. He is described as a nu metal fan who didn't fit the goths' aesthetic, but stuck around since they were the closest "affinity group" he could find.[3]
