Piconjo (real name Oliver Longwood the 69th) is the main avatar of the Newgrounds user of the same name. Said user is infamously known for being credited on submissions of varying quality and being quite critical of Newgrounds. Since 2004, he has appeared in several Flash movies created by various animators on the website.

While he isn't a part of Tom Fulp's Pico series, a villainous depiction of him appears in Newgrounds Rumble as a playable character. However, he was later retconned to be a separate character and an "impostor" to the real Piconjo.

General information

Physical appearance

Piconjo's initial design depicts him as a stick figure with a white head and no mouth who only bears a vague resemblance to Pico, in that he has orange hair and simple white eyes. However, that is where the similarities end, as he typically appears as an incredibly muscular, shirtless man with an extremely large penis (in some animations, it is shown to be capable of traveling through space and time).

Personality

Piconjo is best described as an anti-hero. According to the original artist, he is the "god of teh pr0tal"[sic]. He's the protagonist one might expect from a shōnen anime, ridding Newgrounds of the many "toadies" and "ninjers" that swarm it, along with any animators that he considers overrated or subpar. However, with his rather biased and overly critical view of the website and its creators (especially LegendaryFrog), as well as his low-quality adventures, many users at the time saw Piconjo more as a villain than a hero.

This is reflected in his portrayal in Newgrounds Rumble: this more villainous and murderous version of Piconjo sought to assimilate Newgrounds as its "dark side". This essentially made him "the Wario to Pico's Mario". After the user Piconjo's return, he disowned this iteration as an impostor, now considering him a separate character and dubbing him "Buttchamber" as a dig at MindChamber, the artist who made the redesign.

History

Newgrounds Rumble

In Newgrounds Rumble, an "impostor" of Piconjo appears; much taller and lanky (like a stick figure), with pale skin, and wearing a light blue shirt, dark black pants and spiky black boots. He is seen carrying a shotgun on his back and wielding an enormous sword. In the Piconjo series, this character is later referred to as "Buttchamber".

In his story mode, this version of Piconjo has kept growing stronger, and prepared for his final attack, the outcome of which sees Newgrounds hanging in the balance. His ending reveals that he has finally achieved his goal to slay all the protectors of Newgrounds, ushering in an "evil era" and leaving its' citizens desperately crying out for a new hero.

Trivia

• Piconjo is the avatar for the Newgrounds user of the same name. Over time, he has submitted over 200 Flash animations to the site's Portal; the most notable is the "Wadolf Saga", in which he depicts Newgrounds as a fascist nation ruled by a caricature of Wade Fulp resembling Adolf Hitler.
• The name Piconjo is a portmanteau of leetspeak: Pico + PWNS + j00 = Pic+pwn+jo = Piconjo.
  • The character's real name is Oliver Longwood the 69th.
• A popular misconception is that Piconjo serves as a main rival to Pico, which is likely caused by Flash media such as Pico vs. Piconjo and Newgrounds Rumble, unofficial entries which depict him as Pico's evil doppelgänger. In response, the user Piconjo has described Pico as a "ghey warty p3n0r sux0r rip off", [sic] and clarifes that he only seeks to defeat LegendaryFrog.
  • As confirmed by both Piconjo and Tom Fulp, Pico and Piconjo share no familial relation (with Piconjo's real brother being Jerkoffman), and that Piconjo is "not canon to the Pico story".
• The user Piconjo was apparently quite critical of his character's design from Newgrounds Rumble, claiming it to be "disgusting". As such, this "Buttchamber" design is considered non-canonical to the Piconjo series, and it has appeared a handful of times as a subject of mockery. Ironically, he would also add fan art of said depiction to his favorites list on Newgrounds.
  • MindChamber has left a comment on one of Piconjo's posts, in which he apologized for his more villainous depiction of the character in Newgrounds Rumble, clarifying that he did not mean to disrespect Piconjo and was always a fan of his animations.
