Resident Pico
Zombies are on the loose and only Pico can put a stop to them! - Newgrounds Description
Resident Pico is a point-and-click shoot-'em-up Flash game co-created by Tom Fulp & MindChamber, and released on April 30, 2006. Originally created for a "WarioWare-esque game collab" which was ultimately cancelled, it was then uploaded on Newgrounds for the first annual Pico Day. The game was developed in Adobe Flash MX, with Fulp providing the coding as the programmer and MindChamber acting as the sole artist.
Plot
The plot of Resident Pico is simple: Pico has to fend off a swarm of undead zombies that are roaming the empty streets of Philly. One of the reasons he does this is to protect his friend Nene from them, although she is more than happy to be eaten alive by the rotting corpses.
Gameplay
The game lets the player use their mouse to control Pico, as he can walk around by moving the mouse across the screen and fire his AK-47 by holding down the left mouse button. The objective is to kill all the zombies that appear onscreen. There is a final boss that will appear after a certain amount of said zombies are killed. It will require a lot of hit points in order to defeat him; a very important tip is to keep distance and try to avoid getting too close to him, or he will instantly kill Pico.

Trivia
- Resident Pico was originally developed for a Flash game collab that would have been reminiscent of the WarioWare series of games. Once the collab was cancelled, the game was then repurposed for Pico Day 2006, while also adding a final boss to provide the game a more proper finale.
- The game, along with its title, is inspired by and is a direct reference to the Resident Evil franchise, which primarily consists of survival horror video games; they themselves involve a cast of characters trying to survive an environment inhabited by zombies and a variety of other monsters.
- MindChamber's art style in the game was also utilized in the second demo of the cancelled Pico 2. Multiple assets from said demo would be reused for Resident Pico.
- Unlike Pico 2, the speech boxes do not display the characters moving their mouths, while Pico 2 does.
- The final boss of the game is a zombified version of the Bounty Hunter, a boss character who originally was sent to appear in Pico 2.[1]
