The old folks home needs to cut back on its clientel! - Newgrounds Description
Disorderly is a side-scrolling beat 'em up Flash game developed by programmer Tom Fulp and artist Zeebarf, and originally published to Newgrounds on September 7, 2001. In this game, the player takes control of an orderly in an old folks' home; while working there, the manager of the place gives him the task of "eliminating" the elderly residents to reduce expenses and potentially save his job. Taking inspiration from Final Fight and Double Dragon, the game proved to be a major sleeper hit, even being re-uploaded to the modern Flash Portal on September 9, 2003.
Relevance to the Pico series
Zeebarf, the main artist of Disorderly, was one of many animators that were requested by Tom Fulp to provide a redesign for Pico, though his concepts were ultimately rejected.[1] The protagonist of the game shared an uncanny resemblance to Pico, which some have theorized to be his future self, but Fulp clarified that "Disorderly was never intended to be part of the Pico universe".[2]
In Pico's Cousin 2, the main setting is Shady Acorns Retirement Villa, the same location where Disorderly takes place; the framed photo for "Employee of the Month" shows the main protagonist of the game.
