The Negotiator, also known as The Provoker, is the titular main character of the Newgrounds Flash game, The Provoker. He is an antagonistic figure whose goal is to convince a depressed Pico to kill himself.
General information
Physical appearance
The Provoker looks strikingly similar to Pico but with a few noticeable differences, such as brown hair, blue shoes with bright green ankle patches, purple pants, a red shirt with green sleeves, and a much more sinister grin on his face.
Personality
The Negotiator is possibly a manipulator, as he takes advantage of Pico's weak mental state to convince him to commit suicide. Alternatively, he will have some compassion for Pico (by making the wrong choices) and will try to convince him not to kill himself, although this ends up being in vain.
History
The Provoker
In The Provoker, The Negotiator appears every time Pico is about to die by suicide. He has the option to tell him to do it; Pico takes this with joy and kills himself. If the player chooses the wrong option, The Negotiator will try to convince Pico not to kill himself, although Pico takes this as an offense, killing The Negotiator and killing himself anyway.
